CHANDERI                                                                                                                Chanderi, is an iconic textile of India, holds a cherished place in history and tradition. Renowned for its lightweight nature, translucent texture, and opulent touch. This exquisite fabric is meticulously crafted by interweaving silk yarn, Zari inlay, and fine cotton yarn, resulting in a delicate sheer texture with a subtle sheen. Embracing the essence of sustainability, our Chanderi textiles are hand block printed using a slow and intricate process.

HANDWOVEN COTTON                                                                                            Our collection showcases the finest handwoven cotton textiles that India has to offer, showcasing centuries of tradition and artistry. This versatile fabric leaves zero carbon footprint and has a significant historical significance, having played a central role in the Indian independence movement, symbolising self-reliance. By employing high-quality, natural raw materials and organic processes, we use soft, breathable handwoven fabrics that embodies fluidity, relaxation, and contemporary charm.

MULBERRY SILK                                                                                          Mulberry silk is a plain -woven fabric with pure silk threads. It consists of two threads twisted together and is mostly used for the warp of light fabrics. Also known as Katan silk, which is term locally used in Varanasi, the yarn is prepared by twisting various silk filaments that makes it very sturdy and durable. It is handwoven using both a pure silk warp and weft. The legacy of Mulberry silk in Varanasi is deeply intertwined with the cultural heritage and traditions of the region. By supporting the production of this fabric, we contribute to the preservation of this time honoured craft, empowering local artisans and ensuring the continuation of their unparalleled skills.

HAND BLOCK PRINTING                                                                                      The art of hand block printing is a testament to the fusion of creativity and skill. Carving intricate designs into wooden blocks by hand, dipping them in vibrant dyes, and meticulously printing them onto fabric, our artisans pour their soul into every piece. Attention to detail is paramount, ensuring harmonious colors and consistent results. At ekadi, we use the contemporary form of this by creating new illustrations, skill-fully reproducing them on small wooden blocks, and transforming them into pigment inks for printing.                                          Inspired by age old motifs and traditional archives, and art, our designs marry the old with the new. Our design team creates original illustrations which are meticulously translated onto wooden blocks for printing. Amalgamation of traditional techniques with contemporary forms is an ode to patterns that exude timeless beauty and modern charm. Each hand-printed fabric piece tells a story of dedication, creativity, and the celebration of Indian heritage.
